The field was mowed on October 31st. It is good and short and should take us through to next spring. Be careful of the moles on the NE end of the runway.
The pictures from the Fall 2011 Fun Fly are online! Take a look and enjoy the pictures.
The weather is cooling down and the days are getting shorter so we need to get in as much flying as possible while we can. See you at the field!
The maiden flight for the Edge 540 was a huge success!
5 clicks of up elevator and 3 clicks of right aileron and it was "hands free" flying. The DA-60 was running super rich and still had tons of power. After tweaking the mixture a little bit the engine smoothed a little, but still rich.
The slow flight characteristics are nothing short of AWESOME.
The plane flies exactly how I was hoping it would. On the 3rd flight I was trying some knife edge passes and they went well with minimal extra power needed to sustain level flight and not a ton of rudder required either unlike the Extra :)
Finally finished covering the Edge. Now to paint the cowl and get the RX and servos in. With any luck it will be in the air before Saturday.

The field has been mowed and is in great shape to fly on!
According to the weather forecast at this time, we may have a great day for the fun fly.
